Our Opening Sequence takes the form of two songs and a brief interview with the French singing duo "jennydavidmusic", who live in Leytonstone and were busking at the Sunday Social market in Walthamstow. [10 minutes 49 seconds]
Next we have our first very informal Team Meeting in more than a year, where we look back on what Lockdown meant to each of us and what we were doing while our normal activities were impossible. [20 minutes 32 seconds]
Our third item in Programme 24 is Adele's Mill Roundup, which was something she always contributed to programmes during normal times. This consists of a roundup of what's going on in our old home, The Mill Community Centre at 7-11 Coppermill Lane, E17 7HA, and the wider community. [3 minutes 51 seconds]
Item No. 4 is a lighthearted look at the candidates in the forthcoming Mayor of London and London Assembly Elections. Adele and David go through the mini-manifestos of the seventeen candidates listed in the official brochure from the London Elections Media Centre
which has been delivered free to the address of everybody registered to vote. [29 minutes 0 seconds]
Our fifth item is a recording of Nick Ferrari's LBC Breakfast phone-in show on 9th April 2021, concerning the report that Harrow Council has become the first borough council in England to withdraw plans for road closures following public pressure and recommendations from its traffic panel. This might have enormous significance for Walthamstow as a legal precedent in our efforts to undo the follies associated with our own Little Holland project and all the extra road closures that have sprung from it. Since its inception it has has been acutely unpopular with most residents within its boundaries because of the massive inconvenience, and with all Walthamstow residents for the congention and pollution it has caused on the arterial roads allowed to remain open. [16 minutes 11 seconds]
Sixth item is an interview recorded at Walthamstow's Sunday Social Market on 2nd May 2021. Adele talks to James the Kombucha Man about his healthfood drink products that he learned how to make on a trip to South Korea, and which she strongly recommends. [6 minutes 48 seconds]
Our closing item is Musicians We Have Lost, a tribute from Adele to some of her favourite musicians who died in the last twelve months. The five are: Little Richard, Chris Barber, Peter Green, Hilton Valentine and Ellis Marsalis. [24 minutes 48 secnds]
Other music used in the programme includes Chas & Dave's 1981 recording of "Rabbit" and Nat King Cole & Harry Belafonte's 1957 NBC television recording of "Mama Look A Boo Boo".
We play ourselves out with Gretchen Peter's song "Truckstop Angel" in which a woman in the oldest profession talks about her life.
We very much hope that you'll enjoy this our first complete programme for more than a year and look forward to being much more prolific in producing original material as the Covid restrictions continue to lift.
