Poetry of Mawlana Jalaldin Mohammad Rumi with Musical Background

Ahmed Hussain, whom we interviewed in July 2019, sent us this recorded poetry, which he tells us is by Persian master Mawlana Jalaldin Mohammad Rumi, usually known simply as "Rumi". and Al-ibn-Arabi. It is recited by King Geezer as spoken word over contemporary music genrès, including a poem by Rumi over an Asiatic infused drum and bass track, Reggae, and a track of fusion of Asiatic/Afro beats. There is also an Urdu translation of a poem by Rumi recited over an Asiatic infused drum and bass track. All the items are produced by Skitzbeatz. It is hoped that the mini collection will help to introduce poetry to new audiences who wouldn’t usually listen to it.

Jalaluddin Muhammad Rumi (30 September 1207 – 17 December 1273) was a 13th-century Persian poet, faqih, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic, originally from Greater Khorasan. His influence transcends national borders and ethnic divisions: Iranians, Tajiks, Turks, Greeks, Pashtuns, other Central Asian Muslims, and the Muslims of South Asia have greatly appreciated his spiritual legacy for the past seven centuries. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world's languages and transposed into various formats. Rumi has been described as the "most popular poet"] and the "best selling poet" in the United States.
