John Arthur (Hewson) is a local singer/songwriter/musician and writer of adult and children's books. He and his partner Maggie Houlihan spent an afternoon with David, Adele and Jean during which we talked about his life and his work in all these fields and had some coffee and rum cake, kindly donated by Adele. Jonh has a fairly large website at https://john-arthur.co.uk/ where you can find out more and watch a short film about him that was made by a Chinese friend Peilin Li.
You will also find details of what he calls his "Quirky Songs", which are available on five past CDs, with sample tracks playable on the page. The latest addition, "The Silent Watcher", has yet to be added, but we play ourselves out with a track from it entitled "Be of Good Heart" and it's available if you contact John via his Contact Page
John has written three novels, which are available from his website at the very reasonable price of £5 each plus postage. Two of them are aimed at a younger age group and one at an adult readership. He describes them as fantasy novels and you can find detailed information on each one on this page
John's interest in fantasy is also reflected in many of his paintings, and as well as the very small sample that appear in the video here you can view images of sixty-two of them on his website. They aren't for sale but he is willing to undertake commissions if you like his style and want him to create something bespoke.
Please note that John was suffering from strained vocal chords during this interview and could only speak in a whisper. His voice has been digitally enhanced as best we could but at the expense of some added background hiss and difficulties in balancing it for level with those of the other contributors.
RUNNING TIME: 36 minutes approximately.
