A Lockdown Homage to the Specials

Jan Hart, piano, and Guilia Marta, flute, decided this homage to The Specials should get an airing before the lock down is over. It's a little gem, both musically and as a home-brew music video.

Could you do something similar with a Waltham Forest flavour for our website? If so please send it along as an attachment to info@forestradio.co.uk, or if the file is too large use Dropbox or a similar service.

Original song: Ghost Town by The Specials

From the album of the same name, 1981

Lyrics:

This town (town) is coming like a ghost town
All the clubs have been closed down
This place (town) is coming like a ghost town
Bands won't play no more
Too much fighting on the dance floor
Do you remember the good old days before the ghost town?
We danced and sang as the music played in any boomtown
This town (town) is coming like a ghost town
Why must the youth fight against themselves?
Government leaving the youth on the shelf
This place (town) is coming like a ghost town
No job to be found in this country
Can't go on no more
The people getting angry
This town is coming like a ghost town
This town is coming like a ghost town
This town is coming like a ghost town
This town is coming like a ghost town

RUNNING TIME: 3 minutes 30 sec. approx.
