Walthamstow's HIGH STREET ADVENTURE ~ 04 December 2021
Marred only by bitterly cold weather, the event stretched from Central Parade to Crate in St James Street, and was put together by Artillery, the organisation behind the E17 Art Trail.
Businesses remained open late for the celebration, commissioned by Waltham Forest Council, with activities taking place from 3pm until 11 at night.
These included a neon windmill parade, singers in some of the cafes, comedy, drummers, Colombian dancers, a drag bingo, cabaret and much more.
The event was staged to support the High Street's many and varied businesses and highlight the importance of a thriving night time economy for the town centre.
Below is a sample video clip of the Colombian dancers of Somos Chibchas presented by Mbilla Arts CIC, performing after dark in the concrete circle in the middle of the town square to a crowd of about a hundred.
